After more than five years leading efforts to strengthen Covington’s neighborhoods and expand housing opportunities, Brandon will now lead the City’s newly formed Community Development Department, bringing Neighborhood Services and Economic Development together under one department.
From putting surplus properties to productive use to advancing workforce housing, Brandon’s work has helped create tangible progress for our community.

What goes into running a city? Thomas is getting an inside look as a member of the 2026-2027 Mayor’s Academy!
Over the next eight months, participants will explore City operations, meet the people behind municipal services, and learn more about the decisions that shape Covington.
Timothy Petry, an Engineer in the Covington Fire Department, was recently honored by the Fort Thomas Fire Department for his life-saving actions after a man suffered cardiac arrest at the Fort Thomas YMCA.
Petry joined YMCA staff and fellow first responders in administering CPR and using an AED, helping save the man`s life. Thanks to their quick actions and teamwork, the man is now recovering at home with his family.
We`re proud of Engineer Petry for stepping up when every second counted and representing Covington with courage and compassion!

♻️ Got household hazardous waste you`re not sure how to dispose of safely?
Covington residents can take advantage of a FREE Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Thomas More Stadium in Florence.
From electronics and household cleaners to automotive fluids, batteries, and oil-based paint, this event provides a safe way to dispose of items that shouldn’t go in your regular trash.

🍂 Covington’s annual Fall Leaf Pickup and Street Sweeping Program starts on Monday, October 19, and runs through December 18.
📍 Know your scheduled dates: Check the interactive map online to find out when crews will be on your street.
🚗 Move your vehicles on scheduled pickup days, so crews have room to work.
🍁 Prep your leaves: Rake or blow leaves to the curb one day before your scheduled pickup. Keep piles clear of parked cars, fire hydrants, mailboxes, and other obstacles.
