K-9 Ernie spent years protecting Covington. Now, his name will live on at a place built for our community and its four-legged residents.
Yesterday, the City cut the ribbon on the new K-9 Ernie Memorial Dog Park at Hands Pike Park. The park honors the decorated Covington Police K-9 whose courage, resilience and service left a lasting impact on our community.
The park is officially open, so bring your pup and check it out!

Owned by Sasi and Edward Hebel, Layers and Flavors serves Thai cuisine in a cozy, home-inspired setting designed to be a place where neighbors can gather, connect, and celebrate Thai culture.

Mayor Ron Washington administered their oaths of office today at City Hall, with family and members of the department’s leadership there to celebrate the occasion.
Both officers will now begin the Basic Training Academy in Richmond before returning for the department’s 20-week Field Training Program.
We wish Aryn and Olivia the best as they begin their careers serving the Covington community!
